Pastor Paul   IMG_7267
I was born on October 18, 1954, into a missionary family. My parents are retired AFLC missionaries, Pastor John and Ruby Abel. Growing up in Brazil, I felt called of God to return as a missionary. After two years at St. Paul Bible College in St. Bonafacius, MN, I finished a degree in Elementary Education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. In addition to seminary training at the AFLC Theological Seminary, I studied Christian Education and Missions at Trinity Divinty School in Deerfield, IL. After college I taught high school in Brazil and served churches in Thief River Falls, MN, and Maple Bay, MN. Presently I oversee the work of the Curitiba District churches and direct the ARCA Ministry. In addition to regular pastoral duties, I like to be involved in building projects, and I enjoy helping underprivileged people.

I grew up in Wisconsin as a pastor’s daughter. My parents, Richard and Joannne Dahlin, are now retired and live in Northfield, MN. I received a degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where I met Paul. We were married in 1979 and moved to Brazil in 1985. I enjoy working together with Paul in ministry. I am especially involved in the areas of music and teaching women and children. I also spend a lot of time planning and directing Bible Camps. Our home is a happy place, full of wonderful memories of raising four terrific kids. Although they are no longer at home we open our home to many others, looking for opportunities to share our faith in Jesus through daily living. We also host many short-term mission groups.
